Blessed be the Lord my Rock,

who trains my hands for war,  my fingers for battle.

He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.

(Psalm 144:1,2)

The Lord is My Defender

The Defense of God against our adversary can be seen in the activity of the eagle.  With eyelids that shade the ultraviolet rays of the sun, the eagle flies sunward when pursued, blinding the enemy.

When the adversary pursues you, don't run toward the darkness, but , rather toward the radiant light of the Son of God.  As you run you can see God, but your adversary just sees the light, is overwhelmed and is unable to find you.
